Road closure
Culvert work narrows Mount Seymour Road to one lane from 19 to 23 October
Crews replace a culvert on Mount Seymour Road from Monday 19 October to Friday 23 October 2026, and DriveBC lists the work from 7 am to 4 pm each weekday. Traffic takes turns through a single lane while they're on site, so allow extra time on the way up to the park.

Road closure
Mount Seymour Road's gate closes overnight from November to April
Mt Seymour closes Mount Seymour Road at the gatehouse from 10 pm to 7 am every day from November 2026 to April 2027, and it can shut the road at other hours in extreme weather, with notices on its website and on lit signs below the gatehouse. BC Parks gives the same nightly hours from mid-November to mid-April, so plan on the longer window and drive down before 10 pm. Lot P1 is the winter lot for overnight parking, and Mt Seymour asks anyone leaving a car there to put an emergency contact and the expected return time on the dashboard.

Prices move with the date and demand, so the lowest published price is shown.
Mt Seymour sells day and night lift tickets only through its online store and posts no price table on its site. Its 3Ski page measures savings against the maximum lift ticket price for each period, so prices change by date. On weekends and holidays a ticket covers a 4-hour slot, and on weekdays you stay from your start time to close. The 2026/27 3Ski pass goes on sale on 3 November 2026 at $139 for adults and seniors, $119 for youth aged 13 to 18 and $79 for children aged 5 to 12, and a first-time holder adds the $5 new RFID card fee to each. The pass blacks out from 19 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 and over the 13–15 February 2027 Family Day weekend. A limited number of daily lift tickets include the shuttle from East Van and Parkgate. Mt Seymour accepts the SnowStart Kidz Pass and the Canadian Lift Pass outside the same blackout dates. Holders book ahead through the Go Skiing Go Snowboarding portal.

Vancouver's Wood family has owned and run Mt Seymour since 1984, and the ski area operates as a Controlled Recreation Area inside Mount Seymour Provincial Park. Its 40 runs cover 200 acres between 935 m and 1,265 m. The day lodge and the main lots sit at 1,020 m. The Mystery Peak Express and the Lodge Chair are quads, and Brockton is a double chair that Mt Seymour typically opens Wednesday to Sunday.
Mt Seymour rates 40% of its terrain novice and another 40% intermediate, and it counts advanced and expert runs together as the last 20%. The Goldie Meadows learning area has the only covered magic carpet in Vancouver. A weekday Goldie Only ticket covers just that area from December to April outside the holidays, and Mt Seymour pitches it at parents and grandparents who come along while a child learns. Park riders get four lit parks with more than 30 features.
In 2025/26 the lifts ran until 9:30 pm, and Mt Seymour counts 13 night runs including the terrain parks. Early and late in the season the lifts may stop at 4 pm. Mount Seymour Road needs winter tires from 1 October to 31 March and closes from 10 pm to 7 am between November and April. Mt Seymour acknowledges the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation).
Worth knowing
- On a weekend, pick 'arriving by car' when you buy if you plan to drive, because attendants turn away cars without that ticket or reservation.
- A weekend ticket covers a 4-hour slot. When it runs out, Guest Services will reload it for another 4 hours at no cost if there's space.
- Mt Seymour sells only through its own online store and voids tickets bought from third-party sellers.
- Arrange your ride down before you go up, since Mt Seymour reports Uber drivers turning down pickups at the ski area.
- Past the Controlled Recreation Area the trails belong to BC Parks and Metro Vancouver. North Shore Rescue asks anyone heading out to leave a trip plan and carry the ten essentials, and BC Parks says to check Avalanche Canada before going into the backcountry.

How does Vancouver's North Shore fit together between the mountains and the inlet?
Every neighbourhood on Vancouver's North Shore sits on the same narrow shelf between Burrard Inlet and the mountains, and the rivers coming down off the slopes divide it into valleys. You cross it along the water and climb it up each valley.

What can you do on Vancouver's North Shore mountains after dark?
All three local hills switch on their lights once the snow comes, and two of them give non-skiers a reason to ride up at night as well. Your ride home decides which one suits the evening.

Which hill on Vancouver's North Shore should you ride tonight?
Cypress Mountain lights the most terrain and keeps its chairs turning until 10 pm. Grouse Mountain is the one you reach by SeaBus and bus, and Mount Seymour suits learners and park riders.
