Vancouver's North Shore Mountains
3 resorts
Vancouver's North Shore has three ski hills within half an hour of downtown Vancouver, and all of them light runs for night skiing. Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver has the most vertical. Pick Grouse Mountain if you have no car, because bus 236 runs to its gondola, or Mount Seymour if someone in your group is learning.

Get between them
No shuttle runs between the hills, and Grouse is the only one with a public bus to its base. Cypress Coach Lines serves Cypress from downtown and Lonsdale Quay, and Mt Seymour runs its own winter shuttle from Parkgate and Rupert SkyTrain Station.
Cypress holds the west end of the range in Cypress Provincial Park. Mount Seymour is at the east end inside its own provincial park, and Grouse stands between them at the top of Capilano Road. Each hill sells its own tickets and passes.
TransLink bus 236 runs from Lonsdale Quay to the Grouse base, and the gondola takes you up from there. Cypress and Mt Seymour depend on private winter shuttles instead: Cypress Coach Lines picks up at the Vancouver Art Gallery downtown and at Lonsdale Quay, and Mt Seymour's own buses leave from Parkgate Community Centre and from across the street from Rupert SkyTrain Station. All three run lifts into the evening, and Cypress keeps its chairs turning until 10 pm.
Worth knowing
- Check each hill's conditions page on the morning you go, because each one sets its own hours and opening dates.
