Parkgate in the District of North Vancouver suits Mount Seymour skiers and Deep Cove visitors who need a supermarket run or the resort's winter shuttle, and its trade-off is a suburban shopping plaza on Mount Seymour Parkway where errands come before atmosphere. Mount Seymour Road starts at the plaza's corner, and Deep Cove village is 2.8 km east by road.
Who should base here
Parkgate works as the staging stop for Mount Seymour, because the resort's winter shuttle loads outside the community centre and Mount Seymour Road starts at the corner of the plaza. Sleep in Deep Cove, 2.8 km east by road, or in a Lonsdale hotel and ride the bus out.

Deep Cove Stage matinee shuttleShuttle
A 21-seat bus leaves the Parkgate Library north lot at 1:30 pm on matinee days and brings theatregoers back after the show, for $7 bought with the ticket.
Parkgate is one of the neighbourhoods in the District's Seymour community, which the District calls family-oriented and home to the Tsleil-Waututh Nation. Its centre is the plaza where Mount Seymour Road leaves Mount Seymour Parkway and starts the climb to the provincial park. Shoppers Drug Mart calls the place Parkgate Shopping Centre and keeps a Canada Post counter at 3650 Mount Seymour Parkway. A Safeway and a COBS Bread bakery share the block, so this is the place to stock up before a day on the mountain.
In winter the Mt Seymour shuttle bus loads in front of Parkgate Community Centre and the library, and a return seat cost $10 in the 2025/26 season, bought online before boarding. When we read the resort's page on 16 October 2026 it said the 2026/27 schedule would come later in the year. Shuttle riders may not park at the mall, the library, the community centre or the lots by Rupert Station, and the resort points them to Banff Court, Indian River Road, Anne MacDonald Way and Parkgate Park, where parking runs from 7 am to 6 pm. Some buses come from a third-party operator that bars ski boots on board, so wear shoes for the ride.
The same library lot serves Deep Cove Stage's matinee shuttle, which leaves at 1:30 pm from the north lot off Banff Court for $7, bought with your theatre ticket. It seats 21 and brings you back after the show, which saves a parking hunt in Deep Cove on a busy afternoon. The theatre notes that the bus isn't wheelchair accessible. By car the village is about five minutes east in light traffic.
Quick food in the plaza comes mostly from chains such as A&W and Subway. For a sit-down meal or a coffee with a view, carry on to Gallant Avenue in Deep Cove, where Honey Doughnuts and Arms Reach Bistro sit close to the water. The 211 from downtown Vancouver stops on Mount Seymour Parkway at Parkgate Avenue on its way there, and the 215 from Phibbs Exchange turns up Mount Seymour Road to Indian River Drive. To reach the ski area without a car, take the winter shuttle.
Worth knowing
- Buy Mt Seymour shuttle seats online before you leave home, because the driver takes no payment.
- Park on Banff Court, Indian River Road or Anne MacDonald Way for the ski shuttle, since the resort bars its riders from the mall and library lots.
- Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the shuttle's departure time, as the resort asks.
- Season pass holders ride the Mt Seymour shuttle free with no booking, and the resort fills those seats first come, first served.
