West End
49°17′ N 123°08′ WNeighbourhoodDowntown and Stanley Park
The West End suits a slow stay with kids or a dog, because English Bay Beach and the Stanley Park seawall sit at the end of its streets. The nearest SkyTrain stations are downtown at Burrard and Vancouver City Centre, so airport and cruise days start with a walk or a bus.

Things to do in West End
English Bay BeachBeach
The West End's main beach on the seawall at the foot of Denman Street.
The West End sits on the unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) and the səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). Its apartment towers and older walk-ups fill the corner of the downtown peninsula between the business district and Stanley Park, and English Bay runs along its western shore. The seawall follows that shore from Burrard Bridge to Ceperly Park, and English Bay Beach opens at the foot of Denman Street.
Davie Village runs along Davie Street between Burrard and Jervis streets. Destination Vancouver traces it to the years when private displays of homosexuality were still illegal and the street gave 2SLGBTQ+ people a safe space. Jim Deva Plaza carries the name of the late 2SLGBTQ+ activist, and the rainbow crosswalk at Davie and Bute streets leads into it.
Sushi Hyun at 795 Jervis Street holds one Michelin star in the 2026 guide. On Denman Street, Tetsu Sushi Bar sits inside the Times Square Suites hotel at number 775, where chef and owner Satoshi Makise has served omakase since 2017; it stays on the recommended list and closes on Mondays and Thursdays. Sushi Bar Maumi at 1668 Robson Street also made the recommended list. The Sylvia Hotel says its Tilting Room opened on 2 July 1954 as Vancouver's first cocktail lounge, and Sylvia's Cocktail Lounge keeps pouring there with a view of English Bay until midnight.
