The Bill Reid Gallery suits an hour downtown with the Haida artist's sculpture and jewellery and with contemporary Northwest Coast work, and the trade-off in winter is the calendar, because from October to May it opens only Tuesday to Saturday.

Access
A level route runs in from Georgia Street between Christ Church Cathedral and Cathedral Place to an automatic door. An elevator serves the mezzanine and the accessible all-gender washroom on the lower level, and staff lend two manual wheelchairs.
Bill Reid (1920–1998) was a carver and jeweller of Haida heritage, and the gallery that carries his name opened in 2008. By its own account it is Canada's only public gallery for contemporary Indigenous Northwest Coast art, and it holds the Simon Fraser University Bill Reid Collection. The gallery acknowledges the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, along with all the Indigenous peoples of the Northwest Coast.
Every River Has a Mouth: The Visual Languages That Connect Us runs until 14 February 2027, and Cradled Origins takes the mezzanine until 17 January 2027. Dempsey Bob's SALMON opens on 1 March 2027 for a year. The gallery runs one show for the whole year and changes the mezzanine three times.
The entrance hides in a courtyard between Georgia and Dunsmuir. Look for the sandwich board on Hornby Street and climb the short stairs, or take the level path in from Georgia Street. Photos are fine without flash, and tripods and selfie sticks stay in your bag.

- The gallery calls the first Friday of every month its Community Access Day, with free admission from 2 to 5 pm.

- Canada Place is a 10-minute walk away by OpenStreetMap routing, and Burrard station on the Expo Line is 4 minutes from the door.
