Chef Michael Robbins and Jeff Parr have owned AnnaLena since 2015, and the restaurant sits on West 1st Avenue a few steps from Kitsilano Beach. The kitchen serves only its multi-course tasting menu, in the dining room or at the bar. Plan on two to three hours at the table. Seatings start at 5 pm from Tuesday to Sunday, and the last one begins at 9 pm.

Street parking around West 1st Avenue gets competitive, and AnnaLena itself suggests transit or a rideshare. Children who can sit through the whole menu are welcome, and the restaurant keeps no children's menu or high chairs. Dietary changes need 48 hours' notice by email, and the kitchen can't cook a fully vegan or celiac menu. Bring your own wine for $65 a bottle, up to two bottles, as long as the list doesn't already carry it.
