Roadside Attraction is a Beginner-rated multi-use trail beside the gravel Mountain Highway road on Mount Fromme in North Vancouver, and it suits new riders and families on bikes or on foot. The trade-off is one narrow gap between two rocks where pedal strikes had started to show, which youth crews built up with fresh soil this fall.

Metro Vancouver closes the paved lot at Lynn Headwaters
Metro Vancouver has closed the paved parking lot at Lynn Headwaters Regional Park while construction goes on, and it gives no date for the lot to reopen. You can still park in the gravel lots and in the marked spaces along the road. Walkers and cyclists keep using the road. Follow the posted signs and whatever the work crews tell you.

The District of North Vancouver rates Roadside Attraction Beginner for both biking and hiking, and its layer runs the trail beside the gravel Mountain Highway road just above the District's Fromme parking lot. The top meets Upper Griffen and the Beginner-rated Cedar Tree Trail. The bottom meets King of the Shore near the road. One segment that the District once rated Intermediate now shows as removed in its layer.
Vancouver's North Shore Tourism funds Roadside Attraction through the Trail Adoption Program of the North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA), and the trail got a lot of attention in fall 2026. A community trail day added fresh dirt before and after the bridge. The NSMBA's Youth Trail Stewards then spent two days raising the narrow section between two rocks with mineral soil, and the association counted 44 youth across the work.
Worth knowing
- Start from the District's Fromme parking lot at the top of Mountain Highway, since the trail's lower end sits just above it.
- Leave a trip plan with a friend and carry North Shore Rescue's 10 essentials, because the District of North Vancouver warns that many of its forest and mountain areas get no phone signal. Call 911 early if someone gets hurt or lost, since North Shore Rescue charges nothing for a rescue.
- The District of North Vancouver closes the Fromme parking lot at 6 pm from 1 October to 28 February and at 7 pm in March and April, so plan a winter ride to finish before the lot closes.
