Anh and Chi

Anh and Chi is family-owned, and its kitchen at 3388 Main Street reworks Vietnamese staples beside dishes from the family's own table. The room and its patio face the stretch of Main that the restaurant calls Vancouver's Michelin Mile. It opens at 11 am every day. Michelin lists closing at 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 10 pm on other nights.

Michelin's inspectors point to the softshell crab salad on banana blossom and to grilled prawn mousse with fresh herbs. Save room for the house-made coffee mousse if the kitchen has it that night. To book, you donate $10 a person, and the restaurant says those donations have passed $500,000 for local nonprofits.
