Lynn Canyon Cafe inside Lynn Canyon Park suits walkers who want a coffee or a light lunch around a visit to the suspension bridge, and it opens from 10 am to 5 pm every day, statutory holidays included. Parking is the catch on weekends and holidays, when the café's own directions say spaces run short, so come by the 228 or 227 bus if you can.

Metro Vancouver closes the paved lot at Lynn Headwaters
Metro Vancouver has closed the paved parking lot at Lynn Headwaters Regional Park while construction goes on, and it gives no date for the lot to reopen. You can still park in the gravel lots and in the marked spaces along the road. Walkers and cyclists keep using the road. Follow the posted signs and whatever the work crews tell you.

The café stands at 3690 Park Road inside Lynn Canyon Park, which its visitor page calls the largest park in the District of North Vancouver's system. The suspension bridge there hangs 50 metres above Lynn Creek. The café's own description runs from bakery items to light lunches made with locally sourced ingredients, and because the menu changes and appears on its site only as pictures, read the board at the counter.
Public washrooms with baby change tables and water fountains sit on the west side of the café building. The ranger and first aid station takes the east side, and rangers patrol the park all year with the station staffed from May to September. The café building and the Ecology Centre both have wheelchair access. Strollers and wheelchairs can't manage the bridge or the park trails.
From 1 March to 31 October the main lot charges $3 an hour from 8 am to 6 pm, for up to four hours, and the east lot off the north end of Lillooet Road stays free. Without a car, ride the 228 from Lonsdale Quay to Lynn Valley Road at Peters Road and walk 15 minutes down Peters, or take the 227 community shuttle to Peters Road at Duval Road, five minutes from the park. The District warns that cliff jumping in the canyon is dangerous because of cold water and unstable rock, and its rangers and firefighters have rescued jumpers in distress again and again. Keep to the trails and behind the fences in every season.
Worth knowing
- Visit between November and February and the main lot's pay parking is off, or use the free east lot off Lillooet Road at any time of year.
- The District's free DNV Guest wifi works in the park, which helps when cell signal drops out in parts of the canyon.
- In Lynn Canyon Park, the café's visitor page says dogs must be leashed on the trails north of Twin Falls Bridge and only guide and assistance dogs may enter the Ecology Centre.
