The Polygon Shop

The Polygon Shop suits anyone stepping off the SeaBus who wants a small gift made in Vancouver or North Vancouver, because it sits inside the by-donation Polygon Gallery a short walk from Lonsdale Quay. It keeps the gallery's Wednesday to Sunday week, so a Monday or Tuesday visit finds it closed.

Check the hours before you go
The shop keeps the gallery's hours, so it opens Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm and stays open until 9 pm on Thursdays. On Mondays and Tuesdays the whole building is shut.
Meet the makers on the shelves
The shop fills a corner of the Polygon Gallery on the Shipyards waterfront, and its stock follows the gallery's eye for photography. Photo books and prints sit beside homeware and jewellery. The gallery says the pieces come from individual makers and collectives in Vancouver and on the North Shore. Kasama Chocolate and Sḵwálwen Botanicals both name the Polygon on their own lists of stockists.
Admission to the gallery is by donation every day, so you can walk straight in to browse. Gallery members get 10% off in the shop and in the bookstore. Thursday is the evening to go, since the doors stay open until 9 pm.
In past winters the gallery has added a seasonal Holiday Shop to its lobby, and it had not announced a 2026 edition when we checked in mid-October. The Shipyards Christmas Market fills the plaza next door every day from 27 November to 24 December 2026, so a December visit can take in both.
Worth knowing
- Leave a big backpack in the gallery's free lockers before you browse the exhibitions upstairs, since the exhibition rooms don't allow large bags.
- Mention your membership at the till if you hold one, because members get 10% off in both the shop and the bookstore.
- Walk over from the SeaBus at Lonsdale Quay, which leaves you a couple of minutes from the gallery's door.
