Jam Cafe Lonsdale

Jam Cafe has served Southern-leaning breakfasts since 2012, and the Lonsdale room is its North Vancouver branch on East 1st Street. The kitchen bakes its own cornbread and buttermilk biscuits, and its fried chicken goes onto the French toast. Jam names the three-stack pancakes and a hearty breakfast called the Charlie Bowl among its crowd favourites. The family that owns it keeps changing the vintage décor in the dining room.

Lonsdale is the only Jam Cafe that takes reservations. It holds back most of the room for walk-ins and books the rest online from Monday to Friday, except holidays, for groups of up to eight. Bigger groups phone 604-416-5251. On a Saturday or a Sunday you join the line at the door, so come close to the 8 am opening if you want to sit straight down.
