Pangor
49°20′ N 122°58′ WMount Seymour
Pangor is a mountain bike descent on District of North Vancouver land below Mount Seymour Park, and it suits riders who already know Seymour's lower mountain. The trade-off is the missing grade, because neither the District nor BC Parks publishes a difficulty for it.
The District of North Vancouver's trail layer draws Pangor running south down the lower slopes of Mount Seymour toward the bottom of the mountain, and it tags the trail multi-use with no difficulty value. BC Parks grades none of Seymour's descents either, so North Van Guide prints no grade for Pangor. Judge it on the ground and walk anything you haven't seen.
Liv/Giant backs Pangor through the NSMBA's Trail Adoption Program. NSMBA crews spent three June 2026 sessions on it. They realigned a bridge exit with wood and hardware salvaged from an old feature lower down, worked dirt and rock on the approach to the next bridge, and refilled a cribbed berm near the trailhead.
Worth knowing
- Park at BC Parks' Old Buck trailhead on Mount Seymour Road and climb Lower Old Buck, which BC Parks names as the route mountain bikers take uphill. Empress Bypass carries no uphill traffic.
- On District of North Vancouver land the trailhead signs decide whether an e-bike may ride, and the North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA) asks e-bike riders to yield to everyone on a regular bike.
- Leave a trip plan with a friend and carry North Shore Rescue's 10 essentials, because the District of North Vancouver warns that many of its forest and mountain areas get no phone signal. North Shore Rescue charges nothing for a rescue, so call 911 early.
