Cypress Snow School in West Van suits families and adult first-timers who want group or multi-week lessons on more than 600 acres of terrain, which Cypress says is the most on Vancouver's North Shore, with a 2.5-hour group lesson at $139 plus GST in 2026/27. Car-free visitors should book afternoon lessons, because Cypress says the Cypress Coach Lines shuttle arrives too late for the morning ones.

Lessons meet at the Snow School flags in the Olympic Plaza in front of Cypress Creek Lodge, 15 minutes before the start, and a parent has to check each child in. Cypress asks students to arrive an hour before the lesson to find parking and pick up rentals. Lessons start on time and late arrivals get no refund. Every student needs a Downhill Ticket or season pass, even in the learning areas where no lift turns, and every lesson comes with lift-line priority.
