Whistler Olympic Park in the Callaghan Valley suits cross-country skiers who want a long day on more than 55 km of groomed trail, and dogs can come along on over 12 km of dog-friendly trail. You need a car to get there, because no public transit runs up Callaghan Valley Road from Highway 99. The 2026/27 season is set for 27 November 2026 to 4 April 2027.

Rent your skis or snowshoes here
The Day Lodge rental shop rents Rossignol classic and skate packages on NNN bindings in boot sizes from toddler to US men's 16. You can swap technique during the day when stock allows. A 2026/27 adult package costs $37.50 and snowshoes $20, plus tax. Ski packages booked after 2 pm are 45% off, and rentals booked with a lesson cost half. On Monday and Wednesday nights rentals cost $12 and must be booked online for a pick-up timeslot.
Book a lesson before your first lap
The park's sport school uses CANSI-certified instructors. Private lessons take skiers from age 5 for classic and age 7 for skate, and weekend group lessons run as drop-ins that still need a reservation. Six-hour adult skills camps cover beginners through advanced skiers, and the park prices its six-hour camps at $235 a person. Biathlon lessons start at age 8.
The park hosted the Nordic events of the 2010 Winter Games, and the not-for-profit that runs it puts what visitors spend back into Nordic athletes and the venue. Trails leave from the Day Lodge, where you'll find guest services, ski patrol, the rental and retail shop, change rooms with showers and a licensed café run by Whistler Cooks. The park suggests new visitors start on its green routes. Its Preferred Routes list then points regulars toward trails they might otherwise skip, and Guest Services keeps a small surprise for anyone who skis them all.
Dogs get more than 12 km of their own trails with off-leash and on-leash sections, and you reach them from two dog parking areas just past the main gate. A dog day ticket costs $8 for 2026/27, plus tax. No dog-friendly trail reaches the Day Lodge, and dogs stay out of the lodge and off its deck, so pick up rentals first and then move the car to the dog lots.
From 14 December 2026 to 10 March 2027 the park stays open until 9 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays and drops tickets and rentals to $12 each from 3 pm. Six kilometres of trail are lit. Halfway along the beginner Neverland trail toward the biathlon stadium, the Neverland Starlight Loop throws projections and coloured lights over a half-kilometre stretch. Night rentals are online only and spots are limited, so book a pick-up slot before you drive up.
The Callaghan Valley turn-off from Highway 99 comes 45 km north of downtown Squamish and 115 km north of downtown Vancouver. The gate is about 15 minutes by car from Function Junction, and parking is free. The trails at evo's The Callaghan next door belong to a separate operator and need their own ticket.
Worth knowing
- Book day tickets online to get through the gate faster. Twilight tickets from 2 pm are the exception and sell only in person at the gate.
- Children 6 and under ski free on a day ticket from the gate, and a $49 child season pass adds season-long rentals.
- Check the park's conditions page on the morning you go for open trails and Day Lodge services before you commit to the drive.
- A Dual Area season pass at $699 for 2026/27, plus tax, covers both Whistler Olympic Park and Lost Lake, and it costs $575 on the early bird rate until 16 November 2026.
- Ask at the rental shop about waxing. The park waxes and does basic repairs on skis, and the retail shop sells glide-on wax for between hot waxes.
