Look out for these at the market
- Everything is made, baked, grown or raised by the person selling it, under the BC Association of Farmers' Markets rule.
- The pedestrian Upper Village Stroll carries the market past patios at the foot of Blackcomb Mountain.
The market started in the summer of 1994 with one farm and a couple of crafters. It now averages 60 vendors a market and 100 across a season. They sell fruit, vegetables, meat, seafood and honey beside hot food and art. Every seller follows the BC Association of Farmers' Markets policy that the work is made, baked, grown or raised by them.
From the centre of Whistler Village the walk along the Village Stroll takes 10 to 15 minutes. Paid street parking on Blackcomb Way fills early, and the market sends drivers to the municipal day lots 5 to 10 minutes away. It runs in rain or shine, and its own rule welcomes dogs that stay leashed and under control.
Bring a refillable bottle, because nobody sells bottled water at the market, and carry a card with some cash. The Whistler Farmers' Market acknowledges the shared, unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) and the Líl̓wat Nation.
Worth knowing
- The market advises arriving early in the day for the best pick of produce and baked goods.
- Look at the weekly vendor lineup on the market's site before you go, since the stalls change through the season.
