The station at 1150 Station Street opened in 1919 and belongs to VIA Rail. VIA's Canadian leaves here for Toronto on Mondays and Fridays at 3:00 pm, and Amtrak Cascades trains and Thruway buses leave for Seattle every day. Since 8 June 2026, southbound Amtrak passengers clear US preclearance inside the station before they board.
The building opens daily from 4:30 am to midnight. Ticket counters keep shorter hours: VIA sells from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm and Amtrak until 4:45 pm. VIA and Amtrak passengers can leave bags for $6 each on the day they travel, and the last pickup is at 4:00 pm with no overnight storage.
Main Street–Science World Station on the Expo Line is the nearest SkyTrain, and the line ends at Waterfront Station, where the SeaBus leaves for North Vancouver. From Friday to Sunday between 22 November 2026 and 19 April 2027, two YVR Skylynx runs to Whistler call at the station at 3:15 pm and 4:45 pm. Indigo runs the short-term parking meters, and Hertz rents cars from the station.
