Trail closure
Bob's Loop above One Mile Lake stays closed after the Signal Hill fire
The Village of Pemberton keeps Bob's Loop above One Mile Lake closed over slope stability concerns after the Signal Hill wildfire of July 2026, and it stays shut until a geotechnical assessment is done and reviewed. BC Wildfire declared the fire out on 14 August 2026, and the Village has reopened most of the area around it, including the Sea to Sky Trail to Nairn Falls Campground. Respect the signs and barriers, and watch for danger trees and loose rock anywhere on the burned slopes of Signal Hill.

Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC) manages Lumpy's Epic as a recreation trail. Its description has mountain bikers as the main users, with e-bikers and people on foot out there too. Most riders go west to east, and RSTBC says it rides in either direction. Expect punchy climbs and rough descents with great views between them.
You join it in the One Mile Lake area, from Nairn One Mile at the west end or Bob's Loop at the east end. The Pemberton Valley Trails Association (PVTA) names it one of the valley's favourite hiking and mountain bike trails and says that from the trail on Signal Hill you can see the remains of Líl̓wat pit houses. The PVTA asks everyone to stay behind the wooden fencing and treat the site with respect.
The PVTA works on the unceded territory of the Líl̓wat Nation. Under its process, any new trail in the valley goes to the Líl̓wat Land Use Referral Committee and gets an archaeological study by a Líl̓wat field technician before RSTBC approves it.
