The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre's Gallery and Gift Shop suits anyone in Whistler who wants Indigenous art bought from the two Nations whose shared land the resort stands on. This winter the shop is a pop-up in the Longhouse while its own room is renovated, and from November to December the centre opens only Wednesday to Sunday.

Check the hours before you go
The gift shop closes for renovations from 1 to 5 November 2026 and reopens on 6 November as a pop-up in the Longhouse. Until 31 December 2026 the centre opens Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.
The shop belongs to the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre in Whistler's Upper Village, which the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) and the Líl̓wat Nation built together. It sells handcrafted Northwest Coast First Nations artwork and jewellery, and one collection on its shelves is called Artists of our Nations. Cultural Ambassadors from both Nations staff the floor. They can tell you about the artist behind a piece and how to care for it.
The centre says the Gallery and Gift Shop applies the Authentic Indigenous program's criteria, which aim to make sure artists in BC are paid fairly for their work. Artists also work on pieces in the Great Hall. Pique Newsmagazine once reported that the Lil'wat carver Qawam (Redmond Andrews) sold much of his work there before it ever reached the shop downstairs.
From 1 to 5 November 2026 the shop closes while the lower level is renovated. It reopens on 6 November as a pop-up in the Longhouse, and the Thunderbird Café moves to a food truck on the Mezzanine Patio. The shop also sells online.
Worth knowing
- Shop online at the centre's web store if your dates miss the pop-up's Wednesday to Sunday hours.
- Use the two-hour street parking on Blackcomb Way or the Day Lots on Lorimer Road, because the centre's own lot is small.
