Date rule: A target date set by the resort each summer, conditions permitting
Vail Resorts announced the target on 18 August 2026. Opening day covers both mountains. The Peak 2 Peak Gondola runs between them, and the Creekside Gondola climbs from the south base. On Blackcomb a new quad chairlift replaces the Showcase T-Bar this winter and gives better access to the Horstman and Blackcomb glaciers. The hours page listed the closing day as to be announced when we checked on 16 October.
Epic Rides' posted coach schedule jumps from 19 November to 27 November 2026, so confirm a seat with the coach company before you count on it. US Thanksgiving follows a week later, and Whistler Blackcomb prices 27 and 28 November as peak days.
Worth knowing
- Check the resort's hours page in the week before opening, because it posts the winter lift times there once they're set.
