Is it for you?
Richmond's Golden Village gives food lovers an evening of food courts and Cantonese dining rooms beside the Canada Line, as long as dinner starts early.
You’ll love Golden Village evening if
- You came for the Richmond Night Market and want a street food evening now that the market has closed.
- You want dim sum classics and a banquet table you can pre-order a day ahead.
Think twice if
- You want a night out after 9 pm, since the food court and Jade both close by then.
Give it an evening
The Richmond Night Market ran its 26th and final season from 24 April to 20 September 2026 and ended when its lease ran out, and its organizers named no new site. The eating it was famous for has other homes on No. 3 Road and Hazelbridge Way, and the Canada Line reaches them in 23 minutes from Waterfront. Tourism Richmond lists Jade and the Aberdeen Centre food court in the Golden Village, and it writes up the food courts at Yaohan Centre and Parker Place as well.
Start at the Aberdeen Centre food court. It sits steps from Aberdeen station, and Tourism Richmond counts dozens of stands there. The mall closes at 7 pm from Sunday to Thursday and at 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, so come straight from work or an afternoon in town. Carry cash, since many stands take only cash or debit. Order tonkatsu at Saboten or a plate of wings at Wu Fung Dessert, and save room.
Jade Seafood Restaurant at Unit 280, 2811 No. 3 Road reopens for dinner at 5 pm and serves until 9 pm daily. Order the beef ribs the restaurant calls famous and the steamed wasabi fish maw and seafood dumpling that owner David Chung recommends. Jade sits on Tourism Richmond's Dumpling Trail, and the trail guides you to 15 dumpling kitchens across the city. Each place has two pairs of chopsticks in different colours, and you use one pair to serve from the shared plates and the other to eat.
Musqueam's own pages name Richmond among the places that sit on xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) territory today. The last Canada Line train toward Waterfront leaves Richmond–Brighouse at 12:46 am, and TransLink's station table has it at Aberdeen about 3 minutes later and at Waterfront by about 1:12 am, by our sums. That makes the last SeaBus to North Vancouver at 1:22 am from Monday to Saturday. On a Sunday the last SeaBus leaves Waterfront at 11:22 pm, so a North Vancouver base needs a train from Aberdeen before about 10:55 pm.
Worth knowing
- Eat at the food court first and dine at Jade second, because the mall closes at 7 pm most nights and Jade serves until 9 pm.
- Carry cash for the food court, because Tourism Richmond says many stands take only cash or debit.
- Tap the same card in and out, so the fare home after 6:30 pm drops to the 1-zone $3.50.
