Granite Falls campground suits experienced paddlers who want a night beside the 50-metre falls near the head of Indian Arm, about 20 km from Deep Cove by BC Parks' figure. Getting there means a four- to six-hour paddle with the tides to plan around, and BC Parks doesn't patrol or service the park regularly in winter.

Granite Falls campground
Camp on the south side of Granite Falls, where BC Parks provides gravel tent pads inside Say Nuth Khaw Yum Park. The north side is closed to camping, and BC Parks warns that old quarry work there has left the cliffs unstable. The Tsleil-Waututh Nation and the Province manage the park together under a 1998 agreement, and the park protects significant archaeological sites under the Heritage Conservation Act. There's no dock, and BC Parks says the sandy beach at the falls is dry only at low tide.
Plan the trip on the tides. BC Parks advises heading up the arm on a rising tide and back on a falling one, and it says the water tends to be calmest in the morning. By its estimate the paddle takes four to six hours, depending on experience, gear, weather and tides. Deep Cove Kayak lists Granite Falls among its overnight rental trips from 2156 Banbury Road. Its rentals open in April, and from 5 October 2026 every rental needs full immersion gear under its cold water policy.
The creek runs through the wetter months, and BC Parks says to boil, filter or treat its water and to carry your own in summer, when the source can dry up or change in quality. Campfires are banned in the park at all times. Black bears and cougars live here. In odd-numbered years about 60,000 pink salmon run up the arm, so 2027 is a run year, and the fall salmon bring eagles overhead.
