Assistant curator Cassidy Luteijn reads winter as a landscape and as a picture of getting through hard times, and she hangs turbulent scenes beside quieter ones. The show includes Gordon Smith's Winterscape (1991) and P4 (1994), Gathie Falk's bronze Arsenal (2015), Andrew Dadson's White Tree (2017) and Landon Mackenzie's Rose Snow and Pink Sky (a universe for Carl Hart) from 2014–15. Karin Bubaš and Kim Dorland are in it too.
The museum is naming its Upper Galleries the Gordon Smith Mezzanine for its tenth anniversary. Eleven Painters Start a War opens in the same building on 20 November 2026.
