The City of Vancouver fills 15 acres of the garden with more than 1 million lights and a run of themed light areas. The Dancing Lights display plays three sets, and a show starts every 20 minutes from the top of the hour. Food vendors sell treats along the paths.
The festival opens 4 pm to 10 pm with last entry at 9 pm, and it closes on Christmas Day. BC keeps its clocks at UTC−7 from November 2026, and the City points out that sunset now comes about an hour later than in earlier winters, so a 4 pm entry starts before dark. A sensory-friendly evening for neurodiverse visitors and their families runs on Tuesday 1 December.
The City lists an adult ticket for ages 19 to 64 at $29, seniors and youth 13 to 18 at $19 and children 5 to 12 at $12, and each price already holds a $1 Amenity Improvement Fee for the garden and the Bloedel Conservatory. Showpass adds a ticket fee at checkout, which brings an adult to $32.36, a senior or youth to $21.16 and a child to $13.32 before 5% GST. Children 4 and under go free with a reserved ticket. Garden members pay $20.04 with the fee when they show their card, and groups of 25 or more save 10%.
