The marathon starts at 8:30 am at Queen Elizabeth Park on Midlothian Avenue and runs through Pacific Spirit Park to the halfway point at Spanish Banks West. It then crosses the Burrard Bridge and goes the full length of the Stanley Park seawall to the finish on West Pender Street between Bute and Thurlow. Runners get six hours and must pass 30 km within four.
The half marathon leaves the same start at 7 am and crosses the Cambie Street Bridge past BC Place and Science World. It comes back through Chinatown and Yaletown and loops Stanley Park to the same finish, and the organizer calls it a fast, downhill course with a three-hour limit. An 8 km race and a kids' race round out the programme.
Worth knowing
- Read the organizer's road closures page before race morning, since the courses cross much of the West Side and downtown.
